Olivier Marger
Born in Lille (France), Olivier Marger began to play the cello at the age of 5. After doing his classes in Lille and then in Paris, he studies in the Musikhochschule Hanns Eisler from 2013 by Prof. Stephan Forck and gets the Bachelor of Music in 2017 with distinctions. Furthermore, he gets advised by great musicians like Yoyo Ma, Eberhard Feltz, Philippe Muller, Jens Peter Maintz, the Artemis Quartet, the Julliard String Quartet, Peter Bruns…
During 2 years, Olivier was academist at the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig and performed very often under great conductors as Andris Nelsons, Herbert Blomstedt, Semion Bychkov, Andres Orozco- Estrada… He regularly performs chamber music concerts with different groups in France, Germany, UK, and USA. In 2018 he got invited at the Tanglewood Music Festival and got the Samuel Mayes Memorial Cello Award. Since 2019, Olivier regularly performs at the Villa Musica Reinland-Pfalz.
