Olivier Marger

Olivier Marger

Born in Lille (France), Olivier Marger began to play the cello at the age of 5. After doing his classes in Lille and then in Paris, he studies in the Musikhochschule Hanns Eisler from 2013 by Prof. Stephan Forck and gets the Bachelor of Music in 2017 with distinctions. Furthermore, he gets advised by great musicians like Yoyo Ma, Eberhard Feltz, Philippe Muller, Jens Peter Maintz, the Artemis Quartet, the Julliard String Quartet, Peter Bruns…

During 2 years, Olivier was academist at the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig and performed very often under great conductors as Andris Nelsons, Herbert Blomstedt, Semion Bychkov, Andres Orozco- Estrada… He regularly performs chamber music concerts with different groups in France, Germany, UK, and USA. In 2018 he got invited at the Tanglewood Music Festival and got the Samuel Mayes Memorial Cello Award. Since 2019, Olivier regularly performs at the Villa Musica Reinland-Pfalz.

Siqi Yu

Siqi Yu was born in 1998 in China. She began her first violin lesson at the age of five and made her debut at seven years old .In 2012, she was admitted to Qinglin Zhu´s class at the middle school affiliated to Shanghai conservatory of music.

She was often invited to give concerts in China, Spain, Austria and Germany. She has participated in many music festivals, such as Salzburg summer academy in Austria and Matsumoto music festival in Japan, and had masterclasses with violinist Midori Goto, Feng Ning, Kurt Sassmannshaus , Donald Weilerstein, Lewis Kaplan and also conductor Andrew Manze.

She was a prizewinner of Hongkong international violin competition in 2014 and semi-finalist at the Zhuhai International Mozart Competition for Young Musicians.

She is currently studying with Adam Kostecki at Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in Germany.

She plays on a Gennaro Gagliano (1750-60), generously on loan to her from Christian Erichson Geigenbaumeister.
