Monika Skruszewicz

Monika Skruszewicz is currently a doctorate student at The Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. Monika Skruszewicz graduated with honours from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where she studied towards her MA degree in violin under the supervision prof. Bolesław Siarkiewicz.
Monika Skruszewicz mastered her violin and chamber music skills, learning from the leading artist such a Jadwiga Kaliszewska, Bartosz Bryła, Marcin Baranowski, Vadim Brodski, Avri Levitan, Jacqueline Ross, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Fernando Arias.
She was awarded for her achivements with the Minister National Education Award and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Award.
Among her other avichements are several award in competitions in Kowno, Barletta, Poznań, Warsaw, Gdańsk and Toruń.
Monika Skruszewicz has performed concerts as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician in Poland and abroad.
As a soloist, she performed with Pomeranian Philharmonic Orchestra and Torun Symphony Orchestra. She played under the baton of Jerzy Swoboda and Jozuas Domarkas.
Her repertoire includes virtuosic pieces and vast range of solo violin literature, as well as chamber music works.

Joaquín Arias

Born in Madrid (Spain) in 1995. Since 2016, he studies at the Reina SofíaSchool of Music’s Telefónica Violin Chair with professor Zakhar Bron and since2019, he studies at the Fundación BBVA Viola Chair with professor Diemut Poppen. He has been granted a tuition scholarship by Consejería de Educación de la Comunidad de Madrid and Fundación Albéniz.

He began his violin studies with Sergio Castro and Anna Baget in Madrid and later joined Musikene in San Sebastián with Keiko Wataya. He has received masterclasses from Mimi Zweig, Daniel Dodds, Natalia Prishepenko, Mari Tampere, Martin Biever, Bartosz Bryla, Vera Martínez Mehner, Lara Lev, Christoph Poppen and Miriam Fried.

As violinist, he has been awarded second prize at the Llanes International Competition (Asturias). He has performed with the Adolfo Salazar and Musikene Symphony Orchestras. He has performed in halls such as Kutxa in San Sebastián and Fundación Juan March in Madrid. As a student of violin, he has been part of the KPMG Schubert Ensemble, the Stoneshield Quartet and the Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Plácido Domingo, Peter Eötvös, Víctor Pablo Pérez, Andrés Orozco Estrada and Jaime Martín, as well as that of the Camerata of the School, conducted by Anne Sophie Mutter. As violist, he has been awarded first prize at the 18th Intercentros Melómano Competition (December 2019), organised by Fundación Orfeo.

He will play with Ciudad de Getafe and RTVE orchestras as a soloist, and has several recitals in Spain, Portugal and London, among other places.

As a student of the School, he is currently a member of the Prosegur Albéniz Quartet and Ensemble.
