Victor García García
Víctor García García was born in Seville (Spain) in 1994. He started playing the cello at the age of three with Professor Nonna Natsvlishvili and continued his musical education with Professor Mikhail Milman. Between 2011 and 2014, he studied in Madrid, at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía with Professor Natalia Shakhovskaya and Professor Michal Dmochowski. In 2013, he was awarded with the Prize for the most outstanding student in the class of Prof. Shakhovskaya.
Since 2014, he is doing the Bachelor Degree at the Universität der Künste Berlin, with Prof. Jens Peter Maintz.
Víctor won the Second Prize in 2013 Witold Lutoslawski Cello Competition in Warsaw and has received important awards in several national Spanish competitions. He received the Wardwell scholarship given by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in 2015 and at the moment, he is enjoying a scholarship from Juventudes Musicales de Madrid.
He attended masterclasses with eminent cellists such as Lluis Claret, Antonio Meneses, Natalia Gutman, Tilmann Wick and Laurence Lesser. Víctor has a very active artistic life, performing as a soloist with orchestras like the Malaga Philharmonic, Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville and the Orquesta Sinfónica of Escuela Reina Sofía; and giving recitals in the most important cities of Europe, such as Madrid, Oviedo, Seville, Málaga, Granada, Zaragoza, Berlin, Siena, Geneva, etc. Chamber music also plays an important part in his musical career, as he has been receiving regular chamber music lessons from Günther Pichler, Heime Müller, Marta Gulyas, Eckart Runge, Fernando Arias, Jonathan Brown, Avri Levitan and the Quiroga Quartet, among others. He has participated in Chamber Music Festivals, such as the Yellow Barn Festival in Vermont (USA) and the Musethica Festival in Zaragoza, France and Israel.
Irene Ansó (Pamplona, Spain, 1997) began her musical studies with Javier Navascués and Diego Arbizu, finishing her pre-grad school with top marks and special price in the “Pablo Sarasate” conservatory.
